Giovanni Sollima and ITS WONDERFUL CURIOSITY 'CREATIVE AND
Giovanni Sollima. A name that sometimes I echoed in my ears. I knew it was a cellist, but not much more. I had heard some hasty passage from a cd, but I had left little of his music. It was not enough to give it a meaning. So last December 12 I went to listen to the concert "We were trees" at the Theatre Building on Gallarate albeit with a little 'fear. I do not deny I was afraid of being in front of a Giovanni Allevi cello.
Instead, I was absolutely stunned by his music.
The project which saw him accompanied by Kaleidoskop Solistenensemble, a group of young and highly trained musicians, mostly Germans. Most have had less than 25 years. Only bows, six violins, two violas, two cellos and a bass, directed by Julian Kuerti. Sollima
Besides, as another solo cello, one of the equally surprising Monika Leskovar.
There are several things that left me completely amazed at this concert.
First of all, the ability composition of Sollima that seems to have really found a point union not only of different musical genres, but especially of different cultures and arts. A melting pot that overwhelms you and where it is clear that commingling is not synonymous with fashion. In Sollima come and go from one genre to another is never pretentious or forced as often happens very often. His music makes us feel really third millennium of music where the great tradition of classical composition is combined with ethnic music and the repetition of certain forms of minimalism of the last century are the inspiration for inventions that go hand in hand with the rock. There
virtuosity on Arabian melodies and then to check the echoes of the Beatles a pop.
And all presented with sincerity. As I listened Sollima, that if enjoyed on the stage with her music, I was striking his musical training. So
through his music seemed to always know the musician. To see him in his room while studying to be a kid. On one side of the vinyl and other Rostropovich CDs Emerson, Lake and Palmer or Traffic. Classical studies, the composition but also the love for other music. Maybe too many internal conflicts against the rigidity of the classical music world who still attended with success and talent.
A man in her life have always been curious about all forms of culture: from the English punk to jazz. In addition to the compositional side
hit me no doubt that the fact that instrumental musician is really good. Not much to say. I, for years I have emotions in the air of the Latvian Mischa Maiski sure, but without comparisons, which are not capable of doing, our Sollima I did not have regrets. In his virtuosity did not seem no end to itself. Reaches the audience leaving the redundancy, the vision circernse, the boredom of those welcoming him play.
third element that fascinated me in this concert is that Sollima take the side of him and another great virtuoso cellist, but not to race and show the public how good they are or even to show that she is good, but he did more. The goal that shines is just to make music to excite and thrill: How Cannombal and Trane in the sextet of Miles' Kind of Blue. " Fourth
and then you, otherwise it seems that Sollima is my cousin (actually I have not really even had the pleasure of knowing - because after concerts, so the words are useless) is that it is able to transmit positive young musicians who play with him . There is concentration but smiles, laughter and a charming carriage. All this thanks to the energy of the ensemble director. All very true. Rare in these times.
As you know I'm not a music critic, but only a musician who only occasionally to write their impressions on this blog, but if you happen, as can be worth my suggestion, go to listen to this project by Giovanni Sollima live.
Happy New Year to all

ALLEVI MEETS Uto Ughi Uto Ughi
Hello everyone, yesterday La Stampa of Turin has published the response to Giovanni Allevi Uto Ughi. Since I put the article in the master Uto Ughi, it seems correct to me also that of the master Giovanni Allevi. And then I just broke! Peace and good
"Dear Ughi, she defends

replication Allevi the violinist:" From him a blind and violent attack "by Giovanni Allevi
ROME
I came from the Senate at 15.30, with a red tie in his pocket. I gave it a child, who came with his parents to attend the concert, "Keep it John, is yours. I put it to you, for the first time in my life." Outside, to my great surprise, I found a large crowd gathered in front Palazzo Madama, to greet me and the symphonic orchestra player. Here, Maestro Ughi, these are the indelible images that will remain written in my heart, inseparably linked to that concert. Now, on this table, there a crumpled piece of paper with an autograph on. Certainly, in recent years I have had the honor to sign so many. But what I have here with me, I wanted myself. It is the only autograph I ever asked an artist. That evening a decade ago, I returned to my studio to a packed room of Verdi Conservatory in Milan, with that piece of paper in his pocket, like a jewel. It was not easy to reach even the artist's dressing room for a nobody like me, an anonymous student in Composition. I had no influential friends, barely reached the end of the month, they face great sacrifices to graduate in composition and concert ticket I had paid. But now I had the autograph of one of the most talented violinists in the world: you, Maestro Ughi.
How could he do this to me? How did he spit on me so much poison, the very day of Christmas Eve? Do you feel offended, and for what? How does a music to attack, if it is written and played with all your soul? Instrumental music without words? According to her, I would not be worthy of being admitted to the Conservatory. In fact I have spent my best years preparing to become, with care, commitment and passion, a composer of contemporary music. They graduated in piano with 10/10. Graduated with honors in composition. I posted my musical scores. I'm a Doctor of Philosophy, graduated with honors and I published my writings. The world of classical music is sick. She is one of the few who managed to live as a protagonist, but maybe not imagine what it's like studying a musical instrument for years and years to come, yes and no, to teach in a private school.
And so, to divide the pie of power in music are few, a caste, engaged in perpetrating his own conception of art and their lives. It is made up of a lobby of power protectors and protected, hidden in the rooms of buildings inaccessible to many. Caste shows the same warning: "People are ignorant, we are the true keepers of culture." But in the halls of the Conservatory, by analyzing the scores of the greats of the past, and comforted by the thought of Hegel's Phenomenology, I gained the conviction that every age is entitled to his music. Why force the public of our time to deal only works conceived centuries ago, and thus losing the opportunity to create a new music, true expression of our times, it is a rigorous development of the European classical tradition? The music called "contemporary" twelve-tone and atonal, in any case is no longer such, because expression of lacerations that agitated Europe in days gone by. Here then is my visionary project. You need a creative effort to the mountain, rather than insisting only on musical education, laying the foundations for a new contemporary music, fetching the deep contact with people. I tried this with my scores and my writings. It was necessary.
It took another ten years, more than twenty studies, and the result, not at all obvious, was explosive: the public, especially young, came to my concerts, with solo piano or symphony orchestra, as if they were events rock, Rome and Milan as well as Beijing, New York and Tokyo. That music speaks to the heart but her rhythmic virtuosity and above all requires a very talented performers. It is a classical music that can not be separated from the score written and rejects any contamination, with the words, images, with musical instruments and forms that are not typical of the classical tradition. Hundreds of young people who write to me, on my example, I entered the Conservatory to study an instrument or take the path of creative composition. As history teaches Aesthetics music, in all ages every new idea has struggled to assert itself, then became, paradoxically, the "rule" for posterity. What is certain is that when the new advance is always fear. As a lover of Hegel, then, I knew that the new wave of crisis would send in the old system and the caste of priests, with their followers, unable to acknowledge no paternity at me, they would have implemented a criminal As ruthless work of «Allevi crucifixion." "His success offends me ...»," The compositions are musically ...», laughable "It is a dwarf ...», but taken more seriously circulating is" Allevi advantage of the ignorance of people, through a clever marketing operation. " Far from it! My music is classical, because it uses the language of culture, whose mastery is the result of years of academic study. My music is new because it has that flavor, that feeling today, that no musician of the past could have imagined.
"Every morning when the sun rises, it starts a day that did not yet no one ever lived, "says the theologian David Maria Turoldo. Mine is not a pop, why not provide for any singer, no electric guitar and drums and does not use the oral tradition, or a simplified writing as a means of propagation. There is no plot, it is absolutely clean and pure: the people have voluntarily chosen to follow. But we must stop ignoring the people to believe "common". The audience he addressed in the eighteenth century Mozart was perhaps the most cultured of our own? Not in Italy there were many students of music as in these times. If my music had bothered, you could simply change the channel. Instead, it gave a very personal opinion, it was decided to erect a symbol of a wounded world, violent and blind.
I'm not a cocky, if anything, a dreamer, and my music, along with my aesthetic intuitions, they never wanted to offend anyone. I, unlike you, I do not hold any institutional role, I did not call any festival in my name, I do not have any power in the so-called "world music", yet you accuse me of being in a place, the heart of hundreds of thousands of people, where others would be. In the light of his words, it seems paradoxical that she is President of "Uto Ughi per youth." The great Segovia said: "Young composers have made my fortune, I will them." Instead she chose the easy way obstruction, from its acclaimed reputation. That his autograph that I have always jealously guarded after so many years for me now does not count anymore.

Auburn Hair Green Eyes
VERSUS JOHN ALLEVI
Hello everyone. Carryover for the entire interview with the great violinist Uto Ughi output "La Stampa" of Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Uto Ughi
Our light went there. And fans of the pianist who curled up during panic attacks have not hurt. It 's only envy. Uto Ughi also would like the curls so :-)
Uto Ughi "The success of breeding? Offends me"
"conceited and never original"
Sandro Cappelletto
That depressing sight! See the highest authorities of the State cheer this modest musician. The most ridiculous was Mr Fini was nearly throw himself on his knees before the movie star. " Uto Ughi not too appreciated the Christmas concert sponsored by the Senate, which had as its protagonist, the pianist Giovanni Allevi. Our violinist was heard - "to the end, in disbelief" - from his home in Busto Arsizio and they have been "offended as a musician. Pianist? But he also believes composer, philosopher, poet, writer. The thing that bothers me is the media that the investment was made on an original interpreter never and entirely devoid of humility. Its success is the perfect thermometer of the situation of our country, always prevail appearances. "
What bothers the most Allevi: his music, his words? "The compositions are laughable, and musically this modesty of the results is accompanied by statements that highlight the alleged originality of the interpreter. If mention of the great pianists of the past, he does point out that unlike them he is "also" a composer. So the offense really great interpretations: he is a dwarf compared to Horowitz, a Rubinstein. But even with respect to Modugno and Mina. That should be clear. " How
define his music? "cunningly put together a collage. Nothing new. Its success is a consequence of the triumph of relativism: the science of anything, as written by Claudio Magris. But we must not tire to point out that Beethoven is not Sugar and Sugar is not Beethoven. But Sugar has a personality much more recognizable than that of raising ".
There is more pain than anger in his words . "It pains me greatly that pollution of the truth and taste. I find that the guilty state institutions avvalorino such a misunderstanding. Clearly, the music consultant of the Senate are people of little thickness. All returns: it is also modestly art and culture of those who run some of our opera, our music and entertainment associations to allow the scary cutting culture content in the last measures of the government. Weak actors can make any mess, have blunt weapons to combat it. "
Allevi What do you think of as a performer? "In other times would not have been admitted to the Conservatory."
He considers himself an heir and a profound innovator of the classical tradition. "He has no degree of kinship with the music we call classical, with neither the old nor the new. This is a misconception intolerable. And even in his field, there are pianists, singers, instrumentalists, composers far more important to him. "
But it's a media phenomenon and the very significant business. "This is an exaltation and collective acts paroxysmal behind which is clearly a strong marketing investment. I am surprised that newspapers authoritative grant him space, often uncritically. Even Andrea Bocelli has a great success, but never conceited when he talks about himself. As a musician, knows his limits. "
Allevi is young. Unwilling to provide any advice? 'Think three times before speaking. Be humble and cautious. But perhaps not even the real culprit of what he says. "
There is an almost messianic in some of his statements in this autoinvestitura about their role in the future of music. "He is considered a prophet of the new music really speaks as it were. New? But for pleasure. "
But how to interpret this obscure his message: "My music will have the same impact on classical music that Islam is having on western civilization?" "Apparently he thinks that Islam will win Allevi. Please, no drink this nonsense. "

How Does A Wart Look When Its Dying?

Very long pause I know, but my life in recent times has suffered some kind of a jerk ... rude awakening from a deep sleep that lasted too long, which caused crashes, noise and uncertainty . Amid the rubble and fallen objects by looking up the pieces back together and hope to find something whole.

Wording For Third Birthday Invitations
ALBERTO Borsari, LAST JAM
Today Only I found absolutely fortuitous that more than a month and a half ago has died Alberto Borsari. The news from the Internet blog reported the date of his death on October 11.
Borari Alberto was one of the greatest jazz harmonica players, not just Italians. Excellent technique, great knowledge of harmony, a wonderful sound.
I saw two of his concerts: one at the legendary terminus, in the second half of the 90s and another in the Villa Reale in Monza with Silvia Donati, one of the most talented singers of our jazz. Wonderful its so-called "2-5-1" and "Alfonsina y el mar". News that m'intristisce much. Although we met only once, more than ten years ago, there was a passion and a life spent in the same instrument that is only now I realize that we share more than I ever imagined.

I hope you to listen to "Lirico Incanto" or to see some of our concerts.

LINER NOTES FOR LYRIC MAGIC - edited by Paolo Fresu
For several years the Italian jazz wonders about his identity and translates this curiosity in music quality. Questions are asked more often about what should be the relationship between modernity and tradition and that sense of a current jazz that needs to be dynamic and constantly moving.
not hard to find in the rest of our cultural heritage and musical vital food to feed the ravenous need for stimulation and are increasingly convinced that the success of Italian jazz abroad derives from his ability to relate to the repertoire of its own history that, compared to other European nations, is much richer and diverse.
Certainly the work is a long-standing tradition that is also expressed at last, out of the untouchables. If the opera houses seem to be impregnable strongholds of the supports of home videos, numerous magazines and some artists have helped to restore the Opera House illuminated the idea that this incarnation of the popular a few centuries ago and that seems to be very close to way that jazz was born in the twenties - also as a popular expression - then becoming elitist art to regain its original character today.

If it is true that the early jazz musicians were of Italian origin is also true that Bix Beiderbecke seems to have been very attracted to the whole operatic music as well as several of his colleagues then. Treat the operatic repertoire today is not so strange though it may be complex. The intriguing operation done by Max De Aloe is not new but it is so new and interesting way in which the harp is close to this subject matter with care and respect. In
LYRIC MAGIC themes are done with that approach philological which highlights the dramatic and the strictness with which amplifies the harmonic and melodic quality without compromising the delicate relationship between writing and improvisation.
This is a real jazz record and as such the ambition to want to change the original form of music could be strong. Max De Aloe vice versa has realized that jazz and opera are bound by that thin thread of history and culture, migration and language that united the continents well before the trumpets and saxophones invaded the streets of New Orleans. For this reason, together with colleagues in this wonderful musical journey, took in the beautiful melodies of Leoncavallo, Verdi and Puccini, the essence of music he wants, as always has been, speak to the world of humanity alive and dynamic. Humanity that has brought the music outside the Italian borders and that today refers to the position of echoes and reverberations across the Atlantic. LYRICAL CHARM
music is clear as air. Music and fine cohesive knows of lyricism and melody. The same as that from a few hundred years is beautifully what we are beyond genres and styles.

GALLARATE JAZZ FESTIVAL 2008
It could be called a festival suspended between tradition and innovation that we make in six years with passion and Gallarate respect for the music, jazz, which boasts a fascinating history of nearly a century but at the same time has in its DNA experimentation, innovation and design. The desire to take risks and contamination of different musical genres is the element primary and vital part of this jazz festival and wants to reward his courage art. A program then that will not turn to "experts" but who has the ambition to involve newcomers and attract a new audience to this wonderful music.
The opening of this sixth edition, Friday, October 10, 2008, will be given to one of the greatest contemporary jazz musicians: the British pianist John Taylor. For years considered among the most important pianists in the world, John Taylor will give us a concert with the Italian singer Diana Torto, for some years now considered by critics one of the most interesting jazz singers of the European scene.
John Taylor began his career in the late sixties playing with John Surman and then becoming one of the leading exponents of the record label ECM, perhaps the most noble of jazz label in the world. His name is linked in the years musicians such as Norma Winstone, Kenny Wheeler, Ralph Towner, Jan Garbarek, Enrico Rava, Gil Evans, Lee Konitz, Charlie Mariano, Miroslav Vitous and many others.
But the presence of prestigious John Taylor at this festival will not be relegated to the evening concert in the afternoon but the pianist will give a free seminar open to all musicians who want to participate (enrollment procedures to follow).
The evening will continue on Friday with a concert by Enzo Favata, Daniele Di Bonaventura and UT Gandhi. Three wonderful and successful Italian jazz musicians in this their project titled Inner Roads will combine jazz and roots to the mood of the music of the Mediterranean. Sophisticated and intelligent performers improvising these three artists are moving to ease between acoustic and electronic improvisation between radical and never predictable melodic structures, demonstrating a musical maturity and a stylistic has already placed the trio in an international dimension.
Saturday, October 11, 2008, as is the tradition of Gallarate Jazz Festival, the morning is devoted to the city high school students with a new production created especially for them. The show, music and video, entitled The Path to x, is created by percussionist and teacher Massimiliano Varotto, the filmmaker Alessandro Leone percussion ensemble Compound Damage. The double
evening concert will feature the Martha marvels Quartet, a young quartet of the Roman province of their first recording titled Spiral Tales. A high-quality music can surprise, proving that the smooth jazz does not bind only to the usual and necessary and noble names.
A follow one of the most fascinating projects that today in Italy, the nonet headed by Ferdinand drummer Faraò inspired by the charismatic figure and work of American painter Jackson Pollock. For this project was the drummer in Milan sought the collaboration of some of the most talented Italian jazz musicians with a band on stage that will see two basses, two trumpets, two trombones and two saxophones.
"The music of this new project - says Fara - was born from the desire to create a sort of" sound painting "that took inspiration from the art of Pollock and, in particular from the current avant-garde since the 40s of the last century developed a new way of painting within the painting informal American who took the name of "action painting".
Saturday, the music will end only at night because at the end of the concerts will begin in the Teatro Condominio Vittorio Gassman a jam session open to all musicians and of course the public as a night owl and curious. This is to be aware that, on one hand a festival has an obligation to reward established musical projects, on the other must carry on a tradition that sees jazz jam session at the impromptu meeting between the musicians and free. A moment of music together on the same stage that will see established musicians and younger and less experienced colleagues.

How Long Can I Reserve Aflight
Sandan-Heki, a look infinitely
Who would not want to feel at least a little bit special in your life? Some people have the good fortune to be really aware and having faces to the everyday with a positive spirit in order to maintain this status at any time, almost a responsibility to others. Some people is not for nothing special but does not know and perhaps the pace is slow, mediocre but no less pleased. There is a third category of people, those who have felt for a long time only for their innate gift or because their lives did so that this strength is rooted in their beliefs and then ... at some point prevails another awareness, open my eyes realizing that they no longer anything special in their underwear, much less in the eyes of others or of the person you love ... the feeling of being like so many others, if not worse. Perhaps such people are in despair that date by a sudden awareness of the violent reality, decide to jump off the cliff Sandan-Heki, the Cliff of the three steps , a splendid point of view toward the infinite ocean, the last gesture for which to be remembered. The sign on the cliff face is to deter potential suicide in this place otherwise extraordinarily poetic.

Going over the promontory of Sakina-yu onsen, in about thirty minutes to get to this natural wonder. There are two vantage points, a balcony complete with safety rail from which to observe the cave below and the mighty waves of the Pacific into it (note you can also get a lift, but it seems the Pirates Cave Big Ben! ) and, through a beautiful garden, you can get to jump fifty feet, the absurd is not protected by railings, which leaves the horizon free dangerously attracting many people.
I also let myself be taken by the charm of this place, I take off my shoes because the rocks are slippery, looking in the sense of vertigo is very strong, I sit on a rock and I'm sure I'm there to think, to enjoy the beauty, provide a sufficiently large and all equal. It is said that the vacuum will attract, perhaps a desire to become part of the whole, more prosaically, despair and evil of life that destroy the weak.
There is some wind over here but I can not go, you're so good to contemplate Nothing! At my feet I see the anchors for the ropes, so why Sandan-Heki you can climb and it must be quite impressive.
The next time I go back to Japan I want to come here and climb the cliff, I started a climbing course, if all goes well I will be able to do so, it will be my way to be special again.

How To Put In A Oakley Visors
Sakina-yu onsen and other
22/07/2008

The Nihon Shoki, one of the first literature cites Japanese onsen still present in Shirahama. The most striking is certainly a Sakina-yu onsen pool built on a promontory and surrounded by the waters of the Pacific.
Following the advice of my Lonely Planet I go in the morning to avoid crowds. In reality today there is no one not even on the beach, is Tuesday, and many Japanese still work. Finally, the stretch of white sand shows in its beauty in contrast to the crystal blue sea of calm. Placed the umbrella on the front row to not lose the experience I set priorities for Sakina -yu.
L ' onsen is located a few kilometers from the beach and the promenade is nice. On the way there are other hot springs as Shirara -yu, at the very end of the bay and Murono-yu, down the road, offering a warm foot bath between rocks and plants resting on wooden benches in the shade of a gazebo .
All 'entry dell'onsen where there is a machine make the ticket (300 yen), then men and women enter into separate segments. Lockers there are more than a tent and a canopy of bamboo protects this area.
There are four tanks, the first is square in shape, shadow, perhaps because its water is scalding. Along a staircase of white stone are the other three pools of sulphurous water, as you get closer to the sea are a little less hot, the latter is almost as warm ocean water with the tide crosses the coral reefs and covers it ...
What about the feeling of freedom is extreme, starmene lying in the hot, naked before the eyes with only the sea is priceless even if the sun beats down.
The enchantment did not last long, get a group of girls noisy trying to spy on their boyfriends in men. Now he's really too hot, I would like to take a dip in the sea but I do not have shoes to cross the reef, I decided to return to the beach, I will cool down there.

Snapshots from Shirara-hama beach! Arrive in Theatres
"Shirahama, on the southwest coast of Kii-hanto, is the most important spa resort-the Kansai area, with all the features of a 'sought-after tourist destination in Japan: big hotels, aquariums, amusement parks etc. However, given that the Japanese love to act according to rules (and in this If they state that the only time to swim in the ocean runs from late July to late August) off season the place is almost deserted.Shirara-hama, the main beach is famous for its white sand that someone might remember the Australian beaches: in fact the city has had to import sand from Australia just after the original was taken away by the water the ocean. "(Lonely Planet)

Today is Monday, but when we arrive at the beach around eleven seems to be in the Bay Domizia days of August. There is an unbelievable crowd, the music from the speakers to throttle mixes with that of every single stereo led to the beach and the sea do not see why covered, but not from the sun by tents and gazebos installed everywhere. Today I realized how southern Italy and Japan are close in some ways. Women's source I found in the very southern hospitality people here just like what you find in the South it because our friend was born in southern Japan but his thinking is what fixed us dinner while we eat lunch, We take the calls at home and let us go round by relatives and then, today confirmed the sea ... under the gazebo with 40 degrees in the shade and 89% humidity, tables dined to the sound of noisy stereo huge studded ... the most techno have the Ipod with speakers, each family has a large garbage can with wheels, filled with ice and drinks.
Our desperation is extreme, how to find a place to settle our umbrella? The sea is packed full of points and blacks, but they look huge ... cockroaches cockroaches! Yes, because all children have this beautiful life preserver-shaped kite that you see in the picture! And then I find that almost all Japanese people can not swim, even our friends, so are the crowds on the shore near the beach where you tap. Come harnessed with diving suits or fully dressed and bathing as well and stayed on the beach clothes, especially women, burned. In contrast to the little girls did not relinquish Biundo wedges masks and make-up even in a bikini. The most beautiful? The bay watcher, he is on his turret with a pack of striped red and yellow lycra with matching headset already placed on the head and black glasses bad ... unfortunately I could not photograph it!
Another oddity: the shops do not sell bath towels to be spread on the sand but plastic sheeting, much more practical because it is better to shake, not wet and the sand does not end in the car! And then the stands! Obviously here are the parking attendants prices that have more or less desirable depending on the distance from the sea. On average, for less than ten euro stands all day, but here the man stands guard. Also in the parking lot where there are changing rooms and showers to remove fine sand off and get dry clothes for not wet the seat of the car! If you're like me and charlatans out in the morning only in costume and shorts, on his return from the sea you will be invited by the owner of the car to get my butt in the famous plastic sheet, of course, having first shaken for good! Aiutoooooooooo!

You go to Narita airport, the city reached with the Tokyo Monorail in just twenty minutes from here. We have an appointment with Mikako and her children who will come to sea with us, the flight is to Shirahama to 13.00 and then we'll have time for lunch before boarding. The airport is very big and chaotic for many start their holidays and it seems that our destination is one of the most popular seaside resorts from Japanese families.

checked into buying a bento to consume, like everyone else, sitting uncomfortably in the waiting room. The bento Fabulous meals are prepared, packed in plastic or wood, where the pleasure given by the combination of flavors is matched by the harmony with which foods are put together, look good in short not only good to eat! The choice is difficult because the types of bento are many, vegetarian, with meat, fish, sushi, with rice ... in the end I choose one that's inside a little bit of everything, more attracted by the colors that the content . The box is heated in the microwave and returned with chopsticks, napkins and sauces to season, needless to say that the ready meal costs very little.
Finally the call of the flight, go! Taking off from Narita is fun because the track in front of the sea forced the pilots to "surge" a lot and the feeling of the stomach is pretty strong in my ears! We are already at high altitude and from there I see for the first time in its perfect conical shape the coveted Fuji-san, yeah, because the ground is never seen by the smog.
between a snack and coffee served by a smiling hostess, clean the JAL, the hour of flight is fast and there below us, between huge masses of rock, a strip of asphalt that ends at the sea ... the runway at Shirahama. But can catch him and stop before going into the sea? Gu is terrified, in fact, the approach maneuver is long and full of turns on the cliff to get in line with the runway approaches ... ... ... hit the ground floor! ... brakes? Brake! Frenaaaaaaa ............. Here we are at sea safely! Leaving the airport
smallest I've ever seen I realize that it's very hot here but the sky is blue, the sun is shining and the Pacific Ocean and the huge front and blue.
We get to retirement that our friends have booked for us, is a kind of ryokan, traditional Japanese the hotel where there are also mini-owned apartments. The room is nice and big, of course there is a tatami and enter barefoot, beyond the wall sliding another room with sofa, coffee table, refrigerator, the inevitable tea making facilities and a small garden. The f uton is bent in a corner with blankets and pillows, so that by day the tatami can be used to watch TV or chat while sitting on large pillows. Of course there is also a small bathroom but no shower because that is in feel, shared bathroom. Shirahama is a spa town renowned for centuries and in every house there is a hotel or onsen . are familiar with the room and mounted the futon in all its layers going at once to try the thermal bath of boiling water. Here too a long line of showers and then lower the tank, not very large, decorated with stones from which flows the hot water and ferruginous.
E 'already time for dinner and our friends are at home here giapu that lead us to eat in a shokudo, self-service restaurant whose dishes, but also western Japan are on display in the window in faithful reproductions of plastic. A meal costs about a thousand yen (six euro and fifty), water, green tea and broth are taken freely by the distributors. All very good and cooked on the spot.
Before going to sleep all the other detour 'onsen to sleep in the bed and then the lowest I've ever tried.

Yesterday afternoon I went to a concert of myth, the music festival september involving Turin and Milan, and as usual offers its viewers many concerts with free admission. Just because there is an expensive ticket to be paid to these concerts attended by a diverse public, the student of the conservatory, the impassioned, curious to trying to pass a different afternoon.
Behind me a pair of grandparents with grandson of four or five years in tow. The baby is very quiet but I think to myself, to feel a little of that age, a sonata for violin and piano by Debussy, Ravel and followed by a later one is not to Enescu its the best way to introduce him to classical music. During the concert, the little one becomes more pounding, he began kicking behind my back, to walk between the seats to finish with a resounding 'grandmother disgusts me. " The grandmother did not give up at this point he pulls out candy and toys from the bag by making a terrible mess just as the musicians play in pianissimo. After nearly two hours of torture for my back and the little baby, the concert is over and the happy little family if he goes home.

Japan in terms of civic sense and good manners only gives us good examples has long since found a solution for the children to the theater. If the music lover, mom or dad subscribed to Tokyo Symphony does not want to miss La traviata and Mahler's Fifth but unfortunately that night the babysitter is committed, can easily bring their child to the theater. A portion of every room of the gallery is closed by a soundproof glass but has a speaker, chair, changing table, toys and good visibility on the stage! Yeah, so the child does not suffer the torment of a thing that can not yet understand and the parent must not give up a beautiful evening of music. Italian Architects
when building your mega concert hall acoustics not only think but to be inspired more good sense of your colleagues Nipponese! The public thank you for a long time!

Ueno and Asakusa the stalls and seats dream oracles
07/19/2008 Time is running out and there are too many things I would do, Shirahama approaches to the departure and return to Tokyo will be just the time to close the bags and go to Tsukiji in the early morning.
direction where there is Ueno Ameyoko Arcade, fascinating market among the oldest in Tokyo. The stalls wind beneath the railroad tracks, on the one hand clothes and shoes, on the other hand various kinds of food, from dried fish and spices imported fruit and vegetables, all accompanied by the usual call of a loud voice traders. We stop lightning in a restaurant under the railway and then resume the tour, including fish fillets, tuna roe, ugly shoes and vintage records by artists nipponiche cotton. Quick
around Ueno-koen, Ueno Park, a pleasant place where the Japanese spend their free time, full of museums, temples and lakes where you can rent small boats.
In this peaceful park is home to hundreds of homeless and do so silently, almost invisible if not for their little blue tents, trying to retain some dignity. The tents are arranged in a row and the outside of each can see the bins for recycling and laundry hanging ... it is mostly men who have lost their jobs and were not able to reintegrate into community life. The homeless do not live here, this time I have seen many more even sleep on the streets, under bridges in Shinjuku, wrapped in their boxes. I did not understand if it's common to pass the curtain and to regulate their stay in Ueno, in any case, this thing I was very impressed.
Again we go by subway to Asakusa, destination Kappabashi-dori, the street of the household. Despite
Asakusa neighborhood is a tourist because of the temple of Senso-ji retains a very traditional spirit that is felt in the streets rather than nell'affollatissima Kaminarimon-dori.
After a short walk and I Gu - finally alone - come to the path of household. Here I acknowledge the small ramen restaurant where I had been alone and I was struck by the free burp practiced by customers ... Too bad it had already eaten!
I'll be back in the shop of the old lady next door and find the same bowls ... seven years before we enter into other shops, including knives and ceramic teapots, the prices here are very low because they are the shops where they buy the inhabitants of neighborhood.
We enter a tiny shop where no fan and a very old man sitting on the stairs and greeted with a nod of the head. There are rectangular plates and bowls beautiful colors, I choose carefully a couple for each type and form, are covered with dust and cost no more than one euro and fifty each. Once I picked them support on a free meal, the old ladies pulls out a beautiful wooden abacus makes the accounts, written in Japanese and then shows me the value: duemilaottocento yen, really very little since I go out with two heavy bags full of pottery ! The sun beats down and strangely there is not a vending machine nearby. We enter in a street perpendicular to arrive at the temple. Here is a pseudoartigianale market and among the various banks we find one that sells bags! Yeah, to return to Italy need an extra suitcase, the purchases are beginning to be too many! Here is a wonderful trolley that can pass as hand luggage and hold almost everything we bought, except it tends to roll in rice paper, an umbrella and some things ... Slip readily bulky bags to pack dishes and bowls we head to Senso-ji, who unfortunately has already closed. As customary we bathe with incense smoke that seems to be healing and yen per cent decide to consult the oracle out of the temple. How it works, put the coin, shake a wooden box that has a small hole from which a stick. On it there is a number, you open the drawer and take the corresponding response form. If it is positive to take away with you, if is negative it is bound in a special binder that will neutralize the bad luck. I take mine, but came out number 99 is written in giapu and do not understand anything. After several attempts to stop someone to help me without making me understand, finally found a girl who speaks English and I decipher the magical note. Wow! I say it's the best he could get out, the best of luck in love, health, work, to life! We hope this is true, I'm sure I bring home a note! Then by chance I look back ... the response of the oracle was translated into English!

Berger Varnish Colour Chart
07/19/2008 This morning we are also known as Akihabara Electric Town , district a popular time to buy computers, cameras and televisions super competitive prices. With the advent of large chain mail, the competition has become strong enough today that Akiba is oriented on the market of video games and manga. The business, however, are still present on cameras and PCs, but even if you do not buy anything it's nice to get caught up in the frenzy of this site, including manga, motherboards, and the sing-song cries of vendors. This morning, our presence here has a purpose. You know those homegrown television shopping chairs relaxing and expensive and have a vibrating roller which moves in the back? Well, forget them because I will tell the true massage chairs, real robots that can replace the dignity of man massages that I would carry me home! In my previous visit to Tokyo I had discovered by chance in the spa 's hotel where I was but seven years have evolved the great and now those older models start to appear in Europe, often via the Internet at a price, however, prohibitively . As soon as you sit on one of these chairs and part of a program of massage that you can set its remote control, click the irrepressible desire to possess. "I want it at all costs!" is the phrase that automatically comes out of your mouth and the face of all those who blessed the fifth floor of the electronics stores try these wonders leave no doubt on unanimity opinions. In reality since we were in Osaka that every day you make a side trip to a Bic Camera or Yodobashi to make a quarter of an hour of relaxation for free, trying different models and types of massage, by comparing prices and offers. Gu also feels that for seven years still the same old story prodigious hours on the chairs understands what has already talked and decided that a seat will be with us in Italy. The cheaper cost between seven hundred and one thousand euro and are already fantastic, have a lot of different massage programs, from neck to calves and I'm not too bulky. But of course the object of desire is her dream and has just called out! Costa almost three thousand euro, in the United States more than doubled and is beautiful! It 's totally computerized, a sort of shell that surrounds you and fits the size of your body, you wrap your arms, hands and feet. It has dozens of different programs customizable, and took his hips rocking gently while making the rollers will dissolve any hands that seem to contracture of the buttocks and legs, shoulders, temples ... then stretches, shakes you a little neck and legs and you stretch out your spine ... it was her, the red leather, we make a loan, rob a bank, but must come home with us! E 'problems start here: 1) the voltage is different than Italian, there is no problem of power transformers for sale two floors below, and so it also works with the 220v. 2) If it breaks is the warranty? Any salesperson says no, others say that the seat is guaranteed ten years and if they have never broken one before that time ... 3) the real problem: it is strictly forbidden the export of these items outside of Japan. But the way there, he tells us the order, they do all foreigners, especially Russians and Americans. You buy the chair and deliver you to a Japanese address, then used the article as your friend to send you, you just have to arrange transport by ship. Perfect! 'S Japanese friend we have it and he who lives in Europe, we're doing a little thought, we note, and with about five hundred € us an Italian company arranges for the shipment ... but what if it breaks during shipping? And if they make you pay for customs taxes high? e. .. e. .. e. .. So too complicated and the dream is still there, on the fifth floor of Yodobashi , as I only take away a beautiful glossy catalog to browse while sipping green tea and sighed.

Very Painful Bumps Inside Nose
Cosplay-zoku, or the Harajuku girls
Harajuku is a fashion district, characterized by the pop culture of consumerism. Takeshita-dori is the colorful main street through the large windows where you can see the most famous hair stylists create improbable and bizarre hairstyles. Harajuku is Meiji-Jingu - Gyoen overall eponymous one of the most beautiful Shinto shrine in Tokyo. Weekends are held traditional weddings where the bride and groom and guests wearing beautiful kimono. The wooded park was once an imperial garden, the lake with water lilies and the beautiful bloom of purple irises make this oasis underground paradise.

Meiji-jingu connected to Omote-sando, the designer shopping street, through Jingu-bashi, a bridge / meeting point of cosplay-zoku , the popular phenomenon known as Harajuku. This is a and spontaneous collective event involving teenage girls who are not socially integrated express their feeling through membership in various subcultures characterized by a very creative fashion. It can be a fan of visual-ke the , bands from the flashy look, or the souls cartoons. In this case, the nurses are to be imitated superhero with bloodshot eyes (and there are special stores that sell contact lenses) or vamp in black with blond curls and Victorian crinolines ( the Goth-loli) but you can be postmodern geisha kimono wearing high wedges revisited.
Some are real urban celebrities, every weekend you can see them and photograph them. A Jingu-bashi tourists flock and they are there to be immortalized, a bit sullen, perhaps expected, but proud of their diversity.

Store Kimono used
18/07/2008
Since my blog is forbidden to talk about ballet, I decided now, do not tell you anything about the wonderful day I spent yesterday, according to one of the Kamakura most popular dance companies in the world in which a dear friend dance solo.
morning you go hunting for used kimono, a bargain for us because with a few Western women tens of euro you can buy something that is worth thousands! It seems that Japanese women do you do custom silk kimono for special occasions and given away after a while. A kimono used for them has no value or maybe just those who can not afford to be in these new stores to buy one second hand.
There are several such places around the city but I have the address of the most interesting which I had arrived seven years ago after a thorough tour. The wife of
giapu which is a city near Tokyo offered to accompany me. It will be a day for women, devoted to shopping and visiting museums. Eventually they join men too (this affects the history of the kimono too!) but already has problems Shinagawa our guide to understand what we need to get off the metro station. I remember him but courtesy requires me to do to her. The feeling? As if one of you should say to a foreigner, "I'll take you around Rome!" but lived in Udine and have been to Rome twice in a school trip, a long time ago ...
Found that we finally get to Uguisudani climb on the train. I have a business card with the address, you out take a long road and we arrive to a block that should be that of the store. Our friend stops look at the business card as an oracle, she looks at me and asks me if I was here. I do not seem the right place and she decides to walk into a store Shoe to ask. Out much mortified, saying that the store is gone for many years ... but how many years, may have closed after a group of Italian robbing him in 2001!
very disappointed and a bit desperate on how to spend the rest of the morning we head back to the station when suddenly the little man's shoe store that comes out of his shop and ran after us: busy busy talking with our interpreter, who nods at least twenty times, then another twenty bows and tells us that the man told her that yes the store has closed but reopened a long time ago ... ... just a block down where it was in 2001. Without being asked too many questions we take the right path and we finally reach a place that I recognize immediately after the house with green roof water.

Let your shoes when you enter the small room a long, narrow, left and right high shelves where kimono are sorted by price and color. At the center of a long wooden table on which the commission rearranges everything we pull out in seconds. Here are the kimono up to one thousand yen (six euro and fifty!). It immediately grabs a pair of lilac silk, and a short one with red flowers and blue on an ivory background ... could you make this a dress!
Change area, here are more expensive kimono, up to ten thousand yen, income from the ceremony, blacks with colorful designs, from traditional marriage. There are beautiful but I already have one so that I could never wear if not at home, singing One fine day we'll see playback in front of the mirror!
The contract makes me feel a beautiful purple silk with pastel fiorelloni of sleeves and bottom. It 's a kimono with long sleeves long girlfriend but the only girls can wear up to twenty years. This is new and costs more than seven hundred euro. Reluctantly me to take off and return to the shelves where I can find a cheap emerald green with gold daisies, and a few all blacks to take as souvenirs.
Our friend wants to buy me know about them all but basically do not understand all this passion for a style of dress that we are not guesses anything! In fact I did not explain it myself, maybe I see something I can not play much, but when around a metropolis like Tokyo I see girls and women in kimono I am always fascinated. And 'quite common for young blonde with the white eye shadow, a day out in miniskirts and platform shoes and another in the foot with the kimono wooden geta. About geta I bought a pair, you walk really well and now you are a little way from geisha! It is high wooden thongs that you wear with casual kimono that is to say the Yucata , that of cotton. Just consider are those that often have to walk in Japanese cartoons, the kind of ceremony is higher, has the entire wedge and is called tabi or zori. The band that binds life obi, vary in complexity depending on the occasion. I bought a simple but still have not figured out how it binds, too complicated!
We leave all very happy and full of bags, our friend asks us to dine with the Seibu department store in Ikebukuro, possibly with a nice plate of spaghetti! Aaaaaah ... as riufiutare? It would be too rude to say that we prefer a kaiten sushi market Ueno ... So go for spaghetti, also good for another, then ride from Seibu, another round of Tokyu Hand if shiatsu massage then ... dall'omino, this time even more in crisis because besides not having booked we arrive at four! Today there is also his assistant, organize and very worried about you begin to treat each round. Unforgettable massage, I go out there like new and with the conviction that they must kidnap the man and put it in your suitcase! A curiosity: in Japan, shiatsu massages are made without taking off your clothes, you cover with a cloth so that the massage therapist's hands may never have direct contact with the skin of the body. I do not know if it is a form of modesty or whatever, but the result is still fantastic.

Massage cats and Ikebukuro
16/07/2008
16/07/2008
I decided, no climbing Fujiama, too much risk bad weather tomorrow and then I was invited to spend a day with the dance company. I am very sorry but now I've decided, on the dawn Fuji is one of those things I will do in life, along with the ascent of Kilimanjaro and Mont Blanc.
This morning around the Ginza district of Tokyo where chic designer shops as well as there are more interesting things, like the Sony Building , where all the latest models not yet on the market for this brand. The most absurd and useless is an mp3 player that opens activated and begins to dance in time with the music forward ...
But what interests me is to visit the Tokyo International Forum, building modern architect Raphael Vinoly, an enormous glass vessel that sails the sky over Tokyo! And 'huge and really nice, the photos do not give an idea of the grandeur of this building. Inside, in addition to three huge concert halls, there are a museum, a library, a garden with bar and various shops and convention facilities. The ride up and down the catwalk in high glass give a spectacular view from above, but now you can not see the rooms. I try to sneak two henchmen but I find myself in the ribs that I stand in the way ... these Italians!
After the ride take the Ginza Line and I move into the area Ikebukuro, another district commercial, less flashy of Shinjuku, but also full of attractions e. .. localetti some strange alleys. There are the usual
Seibu , Seitan, Big Room, Yamaha mega store and all the most popular shopping malls with their inputs directly into the subway station. I'm walking for at least four hours, the heat is scorching my feet and scream ... the solution? And there before my eyes, the streets are inviting signs like this one every three meters, but I choose the less flashy, two thousand six hundred yen (about € 15) for a foot massage. The study is on the third floor of a tiny building, a young man greets me very worried because There is a foreigner, he does not speak English and I have not booked (for giapu prepared and who would welcome the best, book is always important in all things!). Pointing to his feet and saying massage, we understand, just feet today, I want to first see if it's good.
I am entering the room, pull up the blinds so I can see the view from the window and I get to wear shorts as not to dirty my clothes. What starts with a hot tub feet screaming that lasts about ten minutes in which he goes on. Then again, armed with towels and essential oils, it makes me stretch, and I also covered her face with a cloth, to relax better ... What can I say? Keep trying! One foot at a time, one finger at a time, then the arch, heel, ankle, calf ... is also a little bad, but Shiatsu is so, it is to dissolve all the muscle tension then ... switch to the other foot and in a flash pass forty five minutes. In the end I say "finish pliz! , which is already finished? Time flies! He's sweaty feet I feel very light and as new, I get dressed quietly, I leave the closet and I'm going to pay. The little man massage has prepared a card face for me, a free massage every ten, but I am among some allotment! Do not even try to explain it, who knows how old is this card ... We'll meet again dear, I'll be sure to make a full shiatsu treatment, you are very good and then for twenty-five euro would say that you can do!
almost flying I find myself strolling Sunshine Street, the shopping street of a thousand signs, at the bottom of which there Tokyu Hands, my favorite store here that has its main store. Eight floors devoted entirely to home and do it yourself: a piano solo of stationery, one kitchen (and here I buy equip great!), One curtains, carpets and bedding, just a relaxing, with ergonomic pillows, relaxing massage chairs and equipment of every shape and kind, a plan for DIYers, one for the lamps, one for items like wedding cards, placeholder, decorations, bridal registry ... etc, a herbal and natural cosmetics and one for intelligent games, educational game type center, where there are robots and cars that have small panels of solar instead of batteries!
I would buy everything, certain items do not exist here, especially to the plan being there are wonderful things, but I can spend little to contain, and taking away the right.
There is a ninth floor of Tokyu Hand s dedicated to animals in his shop Neko-Bukura, where neko, cat, is the absolute master. Among the various things that the little animals are just like torture, but some owners are happy (with the kimono ... I do not ever put my cat ...) game center where there is a cat who did not have a place and time for all his spupazzarsi can go to a cat, but very beautiful indeed twenty cats, too bored ...
It is already dark, I shall return to this place because I've seen a couple of things that I absolutely have to take possession and then there's the little man ... what a massage, I could, I would put it in your suitcase!

How Much Does The Whatthedunks Coste
Vanity Fair
It 's always the same story but each time we falling back on time with devastating effects on my already non-existent self-esteem. Arriva
him famous, hysterical - good for charity, but I can not stand the hysterical - who wants to eight girls, beautiful, Mediterranean, expressive, soulful eyes, fat, thin, maybe too good to be blond, even if they can not dance boh ... But they do not even know him, those beautiful, the less beautiful, blond and even those who do not know the fat He wants to know what to dance, then go to greetings, kisses and hugs blatant, smiles and looks flattering. "I want you to walk on a beach like a movie, I want to un'erinni fury in your eyes I want a sensual dance but a bit rough ..." Orders! All to run, hurt those who love and then on, every gesture, "you away, because you suck! You have not understood anything." Heck, I'm skimming through unscathed from all, keeps me looking at me smiling, do you remember me? Like me! At the bottom are Bravin, why should throw me out? And in fact I choose! They are among the eight, damn I did it, it works!
Then you twist the ninth! As the ninth, but did not have to be eight? Well yes, five seats were already allocated almost three up for grabs, but then check that MUST be in the ninth and become the eighth ... And in a nano second I find out that I have been Bravin, expressive, bad, sexy , with eyes deep in my place ... a blonde, expressionless, grassina, through the eyes of mullet, who can not dance but he has, like many others, the talent, crucial in the undergrowth of Italian art: the art of ' flattery, fine craftsmanship that is not learned, in which only the best in order to arrive, get the benefit of a patron saint. No, not in heaven! No need to climb so high, a saint is usually found below! The saint is often unable or, if he is able, he loves the power that only the gesture of many flattering in search of grace gives.
a patron saint I do not have it, I never even tried because I was born with no talent, I do not know how to offer prayers in exchange for votes and thank you. At most I could find a protector! But that's another job and then now it seems that we go in jail!
But ... ops ... I had to tell the shiatsu massage in Ikebukuro, and instead I lost the thread ... sorry for the outburst, now we in Tokyo!

Period Due Tomorrow But
DISTANCES
About a month I've done a nice gig with Attilio Zanchi and Garrison Fewell, two fine musicians, but above all two people that is nice to spend time together.
What important for me to make music. On that occasion, Attilio gave me his cd made with drummer Marco Castiglioni and pianist Mauro Grossi, entitled "Distance", published by "Music Center". By Marco Attilio and we've known for years but has not happened very often play together while Mauro Grossi do not know him personally but I've always heard good things about him from many musicians.
Yes, but so far one says I'm doing it because Max Mushroom? What we care?
Yes it is true, I was a bit 'wordy, but all to tell you that this CD is among the most beautiful cd I've heard recently and simply hope that someone who has the opportunity to hear him read.
A trio that plays with heart and head. An excellent combination of a precious and a beautiful balance also by the excellent record of Joseph Emmanuel (also and above all supremely pianist) and Paul Censi.
The songs in the lineup fell from a swing of Abercrombie in a traditional Palestinian track to "La fille aux cheveux de lin" by Debussy. Then a beautiful ballad by Duke Ellington called "On a Turquoise Cloud" (I did not know and it was a beautiful outdoor) and fine original songs composed by members of the trio. Spruce is always great when dialing. Among the most talented composers of Italian jazz (and I'm convinced from listening to his vinyl from "Early Spring" took place about twenty years ago). And the thing that is striking that in such a diverse lineup the ability of the group is to be able to personalize everything and give the whole cd a planning and a sound that's on paper it would seem difficult with so many different tracks. A CD that can be enjoyed from the first listen but at the same hides a depth that can be perceived only after a bit 'of plays. Two beautiful souls for a record that is a credit to our jazz and shows us that not always (actually almost never) the disks are fine in the catalogs of major and must have the patience or luck to look in the catalogs of those who play them hard and prints them without thinking about the income statement.
Then these "distances" gave me the opportunity to listen to Mauro I think is a big pianist underestimated. A great pianist, but really. Allow them a moment Bollani (which is a great, one of the largest, but not just him) and ascoltatevi Mauro Grossi. Well beyond the words that are time finding this is really a beautiful cd and these three musicians play together really well. A compliment to
Marco, and Mauro Attilio. The next step is going to hear live, I hope some of you may. Good Music

Waitress At A Strip Club
Jazzfromitaly
Today I found a comment on the last post of this blog by www.jazzfromitaly.splinder.com So intrigued I went to see the blog where the comment came from and I found myself in a moment in one of the shelters the most beautiful I have ever found anywhere.
I always wondered why sites about jazz were always very sad, sterile, full of information but without love, a little 'magazines as well as jazz.
Instead I suggest you go to visit questojazzfromitaly shines where love, passion and sincerity. There is music in the cradle, in the authenticity of the writings of the anonymous signing and organizing the blog with the name of Mr. J. . The pictures are beautiful then as the music that accompanies reading.
can not then not to bump the tribute that Mr. J is that I agree with Nunzio Rotondo with him being one of the greatest trumpet players, or better poets of the trumpet of our jazz.

3 Days Before My Period And My Cervix Is High?
"Armonitango" by Antonio Serrano and other cd Do not miss
Ognitanto happen to find the musicians that make you jump on the chair. That 's what happened to me yesterday when I put in the car cd player "Armonitango" harmonicity Spaniard Antonio Serrano. A CD dedicated mainly to the music of the great Astor Piazzola.
I'm not one of those musicians who listen predominantly cd where they play the greats of his instrument. Indeed, perhaps just the opposite. Already the French accordionist Frederick Avenue Serrano told me about and I had written a note with his name that has stuck in my desk for months until a few days ago, my friend Franco came with two CDs of this tribute Serrano. "Armonitango" is a masterpiece and I rarely ever hear a harmonica in a position to interpret the tango so magnificently. Not even the king of the tango harmonica Hugo Diaz I was so surprised. In this young harmonica English melts at the highest level technical skills (running eighth of the parties to desist from making many of us in the profession), a very personal sound, an impeccable musical taste and relevance. The ideas are fascinating improvisational (certainly not at the level of the great Toots Thielemans and even those of Olivier ker Ouriò or others of their level). In short, a miracle that I was excited and amazed. A real talent. Here you can see a video of flamenco with Antonio Serrano playing in the group of Paco de Lucia.
During this period other cd hit me. First of all the CDs, published by Italy's Music Center, the Russian bassist Yuri Goloubev with Israeli drummer Asaf Sirkis and the British pianist Gwilym Simcok (The group is called the SGS Group and the CD by the name "Presents"). The CD is dedicated to compositions of some great contemporary jazz: John Taylor, Buster Willliams, Allan Holdsworth, Bobby Watson, Enrico Pieranunzi and Richie Beirach.
A great CD that highlights this twenty-seven English pianist, a winner of numerous awards. I think in the future Gwilym Simcock really become one of the giants of European jazz panismo. And his two partners are no different. Listen for yourself.
another CD that struck me is very "Promenade" of the Emerald Claudio Fasoli Quartet (COMAR edition 23). Fasoli, a cornerstone of our jazz, seems to have found in these young partner (Zanoli, Zara and Goloubev) lifeblood to create a CD where the whole group makes a difference. Fasoli beautiful compositions and his improvisational skills that I find very close to the modern jazz of Kenny Wheeler (musician Fasoli which over the years has performed and recorded). I think Claudio Fasoli, although it has always played at the highest levels and with all the greatest jazz musicians of the world, is still a musician in part underestimated. One of the most modern and visionary of his generation.
conclude this brief overview on the CD that struck me during this time with "Spiral Tales of Martha marvels Quartet (Project Alpha). First CD for this young singer in the province of Rome. In the cd besides the marvels, we find Sbarzella Simon on piano, bass and Alessio Fabio Penna Sbarzella on drums.
The CD is also enhanced by some more precise solos Tino Tracanna appearing as a guest on some tracks of the CD. Good musicians and among them stands out with an intense voice astonishment Marta, staff never bombastic. The songs are all original (for eslusione of "Triad", Crosby) composed by Martin and Simon Sbarzella marvels. The beautiful title track "Sail Away" (which has nothing to do with the famous passage from Tom Harrell), echoed in a version more appealing and "radio" at the end of the CD. Excellent. I wish him great luck and long live the new jazz Italian. Invite them to play at festivals in your town. www.martaravigliaquartet.it
